Overview

  • I engaged in developing 0-1 B2C and B2B SaaS platform as the company is in its early stages, and worked closely with cross-functional team in weekly design sprints following an agile process.

My Role

  • Led 3 designers building Web App for two user group to launch MVP in Oct.

  • Worked on user flow, wireframes, and designing web and app main features.

  • Collaborated closely with front-end devs and PM for planning design sprint every week.

Project Timeline

What is dPO and How does dPO work?

dPO is a B2B + B2C SaaS platform seamlessly and directly connecting truckers and property owners, looking for parking and storage spaces with available hosts.

*dPO Technologies is a B2B + B2C SaaS Startup(DINX Solutions’ subsidiary).

*CEO holds ownership of a logistics enterprise and manages a convoy consisting of 30 trucks.

User Group

Main Problems

  • Parking spaces meant for cars are taken up by trucks, causing underutilization of parking area.

  • Lack of system to effectively manage parking spaces for property owners.

  • Existing web/mobile services have lack of seamlessness and prompt updates.

Project Goal

  • To offer a seamless and intuitive parking reservation experience for finding safe and legal parking.

  • To provide property owners with tools for an efficient parking management and enforcement.

Research

  • Nearly 63% of truck drivers reported having difficulty finding safe and legal parking.

  • No update the availability status - Inaccurate information by the mobile app might cause users’ frustration and inconvenience.

  • Hard to contact property owners - A lack of reliable way to secure and confirm parking availability when booking.

Why Web App?

  • By offering a web app, we ensure that a wider range of truck drivers can access our services using any device with a web browser, regardless of its specifications.

  • It is driven by our commitment to providing a versatile, accessible, and cost-effective solution that enhances their user experience, ensures compliance with safety regulations.

Building an MVP

User flow for renters(truckers & logistic companies)

- Booking parking spots in direct association with property owners.

User flow for partners(property owners)

- Managing parking spaces(properties) providing renters.

Quick Iteration

Main page for renters

I focused on functionality - showing parking listing with correct availability info the most for renters.

I placed search section in the middle of the hero image since it aligns with renters(truckers) needs.

Page after searching parking spaces for renters

Discussed with CEO, I created a huge map and listing which can save users time and reduce frustration.

I designed second one since renters(truckers and logistic companies) want to know parking availability information on each parking listing.

My Business page for property owners

I decided to include only 'Managing List' and 'Payout' in the app because two sections are the most frequently used by property owners.

Design System

We initially developed Design System version 1 with a focus on aligning with WCAG standards, and we are currently in the process of enhancing it for version 2.

Takeaways

  • Embrace agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups and sprint reviews for transparent communication.

  • Efficient time management becomes crucial when each sprint moves swiftly every week.

  • As more components and patterns are added, ensuring consistency across the entire design system becomes more challenging.
